Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
- 3 tablespoons warm milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Wash the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, add the saffron threads to warm milk and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add raisins and cashews and sauté until golden brown. Remove from the pot and set aside.
