Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 ½ cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the water, yeast, and honey. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
- Add the flour and salt and mix until a dough forms. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a round loaf. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake the loaf for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
