Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1 cup blanched almonds
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 cups water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- In a blender, combine rice, almonds, cinnamon sticks, and 3 cups of water. Blend until mixture is finely ground.
- Transfer mixture to a bowl and add remaining 3 cups of water. Let mixture sit at room temperature for 3 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Strain mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
- Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until sugar is dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
