Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1 cup blanched almonds
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine rice, almonds, cinnamon sticks, and 3 cups of water. Blend until mixture is finely ground.
  2. Transfer mixture to a bowl and add remaining 3 cups of water. Let mixture sit at room temperature for 3 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Strain mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  4. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until sugar is dissolved. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
