Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the melted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  4. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with the red velvet cake mix and white chocolate chips. Top with remaining batter.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean. Let cool before frosting.
  6. For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla and powdered sugar. Spread over cooled brownies.
