Ingredients

- Whisk constantly for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and turns pale yellow.
- Remove the bowl from the heat and whisk in the milk.
- Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the mascarpone cheese until well combined.
- Gently fold the mascarpone mixture into the cooled egg yolk mixture until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the coffee into a shallow dish.
- One at a time, dip the ladyfingers into the coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not overly saturated.
- Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer in the bottom of a 9x9-inch dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Sift the cocoa powder over the top of the tiramisu.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.
