  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, blue cheese, and egg. Mix well.
  6. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  7. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the meat sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, cheese mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  9. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
