Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of sherry
- 1/2 cup of chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon of dry thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 cup of mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/4 cup of flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper and add them to the skillet.
- Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the sherry, chicken broth, thyme, garlic powder, and onion powder to the skillet and bring to a boil.
- Add the mushrooms and simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Add the flour and whisk until combined.
- Gradually add the butter-flour mixture to the sherry-mushroom mixture, whisking constantly.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the pork chops back to the skillet and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the pork chops are heated through.
- Serve the pork chops with the sherry mushroom gravy.
