Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored and finely diced
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the pork, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Add the diced apple and mix until evenly distributed.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls and set aside.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. When the meatballs are cooked through, reduce the heat to low and add the apple cider. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve hot.
