Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, rice, water, onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Form into 12 meatballs.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook meatballs, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in ketchup, tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve over pasta, rice or mashed potatoes.
