Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (14-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- In a large pot over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onions and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning, if needed.
- Serve over your favorite pasta.
