Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fold in the crushed pineapple and walnuts.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
