Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of sweet chili sauce

Directions

  1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and carefully drop in the eggs. Boil for 8 minutes, then remove and place in a bowl of cold water until cool.
  2. Mix together the flour, breadcrumbs, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, coriander, oregano, and thyme in a shallow bowl.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Gently peel the eggs and roll each one in the flour mixture until evenly coated. Place in the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Remove the eggs from the pan and place on a plate lined with kitchen paper to drain off any excess oil.
  6. Serve the Scotch eggs with the sweet chili sauce.
