Ingredients
- 1 lb of lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup of diced onion
- 1/4 cup of diced green pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup of milk
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of bacon (optional)
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cheese, bread crumbs, and milk.
- Mix together until all of the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape them into round patties.
- Place a spoonful of cheese in the center of each patty and then fold the patty in half, making sure to seal the edges so that the cheese won't leak out.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil.
- Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on the hamburger buns.
- Optional: add a slice of bacon to each burger. Serve warm.
