Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the milk and stir until the dough comes together.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it a few times.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick.
