Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and honey until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until just incorporated. Stir in the walnuts. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Allow cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
