- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup cocoa powder

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not over-mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
- To make the frosting, mix together the coconut, pecans, and melted butter in a medium bowl. Spread the frosting onto the cooled cake.
