Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons anise extract (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Slowly add the melted butter, vanilla extract, and anise extract (if using), and mix until combined.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased pizzelle maker and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
