Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and egg.
- Form the mixture into four patties and set aside.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the beef broth, tomato sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
- Return the patties to the skillet and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the patties are cooked through.
- Serve with mashed potatoes.
