Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook for 3 minutes, turning them occasionally. Reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  4. Split the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise. Spread each half with marinara sauce. Top each half with the cooked meatballs, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve the sandwiches hot.
