Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. rutabaga, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: herbs and spices of your choice

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the rutabaga cubes and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the cubes are very tender.
  2. Drain the rutabaga and return it to the pot. Add the butter, cream, salt, and pepper and mash with a potato masher until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. If desired, add herbs and spices to the mashed rutabaga. Stir to combine and serve immediately.
