Ingredients
- 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup of white sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups of half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1/3 cup of packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup of pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup of chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks with a wire whisk. Add sugar, flour and salt. Gradually blend in half-and-half.
- Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake for 30 minutes or until the center is firm.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add brown sugar and maple syrup. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped nuts.
- Spread maple topping evenly over hot pie. Cool completely before serving.
