Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground sage sausage
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced celery
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups crumbled cornbread
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Drain off the fat and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onions and celery until soft. Add the poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper and mix well.
- In a large bowl, combine the cornbread, sausage, and onion and celery mixture. Add enough chicken broth to moisten the mixture so that it can be lightly pressed together.
- Spread the mixture into an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned on top.
