Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the sour cream, vanilla extract, lemon extract, eggs, and lemon peel until blended.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix until just incorporated. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are lightly browned. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
