Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the butter and use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead just until it comes together.
  7. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut into 8 wedges.
  8. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
