Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup espresso, cooled
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Add the espresso and mix until completely incorporated.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the chips and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
- Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
