Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup Kentucky bourbon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and 2 ounces of semisweet chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sugar until it is completely blended.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix until blended.
  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and mix well.
  7. Stir in the bourbon, pecans, and chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
