Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Add the milk mixture to the batter and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, and lemon juice. Brush this mixture on the top of the cake while it is still warm.
- Let the cake cool completely before slicing and serving.
