Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. In a medium pot, combine oats, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Stir in honey, raisins, cranberries and walnuts and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with a dollop of yogurt or milk.
