Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Oil, for deep-frying

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, egg and milk until combined.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot over medium heat.
  5. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden-brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
