Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, water, and salt. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, fold the dough over itself a few times to redistribute the yeast. Cover and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place a Dutch oven with the lid on in the oven to heat up.
- Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the Dutch oven from the oven and place the dough in it. Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife.
- Cover the Dutch oven with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown.
- Remove the bread from the Dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
