Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and condiments of your choice

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, grated onion, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Take one portion and flatten it into a patty shape, making a small indentation in the center.
  3. Place a slice of cheddar cheese in the indentation.
  4. Take another portion of the beef mixture and flatten it into a patty shape. Place it on top of the cheese, pressing the edges together to seal the filling inside.
  5. Repeat this process with the remaining portions of the beef mixture and cheese.
  6. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  7. Place the burgers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  8. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two, until they are slightly crispy.
  9. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, and topping with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments.
