Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup finely chopped hazelnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a cookie sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla and mix until well blended. Stir in hazelnuts.
  3. Divide dough in half and shape into two 10-inch long logs. Place on prepared cookie sheet and flatten slightly. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  4. Remove from oven and cool on cookie sheet for 10 minutes. Cut logs into 1/2-inch slices. Place slices back onto cookie sheet and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
