Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 lbs top sirloin steak, cut into 8-10 pieces
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1/2 cup beef stock
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the steak to the skillet, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until nicely browned.
- Remove the steak from the skillet, and set aside.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the thyme, mustard powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and black pepper, stirring to combine.
- Add the red wine and beef stock, and bring to a simmer.
- Add the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
- Return the steak to the skillet, and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is thick and the steak is cooked through.
- Add the butter and parsley, stirring to combine.
- Serve the steak with the sauce.
