Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Add the wine and bring to a simmer.
- Add the parsley and thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, roasted chicken, or other favorite comfort foods.
