- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup finely diced green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely diced onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup finely diced jalapeno pepper
- 1/4 cup finely diced pineapple
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the buttermilk, cheese, bell peppers, onion, cilantro, parsley, jalapeno pepper, and pineapple.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the hush puppy batter into the hot oil. Fry until the hush puppies are golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- Remove the hush puppies from the oil and place on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
