Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Fold in the cranberries.
  3. Spoon batter into prepared pan. In a medium bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter and the eggs; spread over the batter. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
