Ingredients
1 cup Guinness stout
½ cup butter
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
2/3 cup sour cream
2 cups all-purpose flour

For the frosting:
1 cup butter, softened
3-4 cups confectioner's sugar

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter and Guinness over medium heat.
Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder until smooth.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and sour cream until combined.
Slowly add in Guinness mixture, whisking continuously.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and espresso powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
To make the frosting, beat butter in a bowl until creamy.
Gradually add in confectioner's sugar, espresso powder, and Guinness, beating until combined and desired consistency is reached.
Frost cooled cupcakes and enjoy!
