Ingredients
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup dried pineapple, chopped
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes, until the mixture is bubbly.
- Stir in the melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and knead in the macadamia nuts and dried pineapple.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts and shape into loaves. Place the loaves on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover the loaves with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the loaves for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
