Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
Directions
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, ginger, baking powder and salt.
- Add the vegetable oil and water, and mix until combined.
- Form the dough into small balls, about the size of a walnut.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot. When the oil is hot, add the dough balls and fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the fried dough balls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and 1 tablespoon of water.
- Dip the fried dough balls in the sugar mixture and serve hot.
