Ingredients

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chestnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sourdough starter, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Stir in the chopped chestnuts.
  3. Add the milk and melted butter and mix until combined.
  4. Heat a waffle iron and spray with cooking spray.
  5. Scoop 1/4 cup of the waffle batter onto the waffle iron.
  6. Close the waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  8. Serve the waffles warm with butter and syrup.
