Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in vanilla extract.
  4. In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to butter mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  6. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces and roll into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Using your thumb, make an indentation in the center of each cookie.
  8. Fill the indentations with the sweetened condensed milk.
  9. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cookies cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
