Ingredients

  • 2 (4-ounce) filet mignon steaks
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
    • Directions

      1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
      2. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
      3. Heat the oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
      4. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8 minutes, or until the steaks reach desired doneness.
      5. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and honey. Mix to combine.
      6. Remove the steaks from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving with the balsamic strawberry sauce.
