Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8 inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the sugar, oil, water, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Let cool before serving.
