Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and lemon zest.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into greased madeleine molds. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Allow the madeleines to cool before dusting with powdered sugar.
