Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (16.3 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. While the sauce is simmering, open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits.
  6. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange the biscuits in a single layer on the bottom of the dish, pressing them together slightly to form a crust.
  7. Pour the simmered sauce evenly over the biscuit crust.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Then, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder and dried parsley flakes. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheeses.
  10. Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  12. Cut into squares and serve hot. Enjoy!
