Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (16.3 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce is simmering, open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits.
- Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange the biscuits in a single layer on the bottom of the dish, pressing them together slightly to form a crust.
- Pour the simmered sauce evenly over the biscuit crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Then, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder and dried parsley flakes. Sprinkle this mixture over the cheeses.
- Bake the casserole for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Cut into squares and serve hot. Enjoy!
