Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil.
  5. Serve over your favorite dish or use to make a delicious pizza!
