Easy Chili and Lime Fish Street Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 pound white fish fillets, such as tilapia or cod
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from 2-3 limes)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6-8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, diced red onions, diced avocados, sour cream, and/or salsa

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the lime juice and vegetable oil.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the bowl and mix until they are evenly coated in the marinade. Let the fish sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish fillets and cook for 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
  4. While the fish is cooking, warm the tortillas in the skillet for 1 minute on each side.
  5. To assemble the tacos, place a piece of fish in each tortilla and top with your desired toppings.
  6. Serve immediately.
