Ingredients
- 2 slices bacon, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add green beans to the skillet and stir to combine with onion and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes.
- Add chicken broth, sugar, pepper and salt to the skillet. Stir to combine and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until green beans are tender.
- Stir in bacon and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
