  • 2 cups long-grain rice

Directions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Add the cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Stir well to coat the onions and garlic with the spices.
