Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in almond extract.
  3. Mix in the baking soda, salt, and flour. Stir in the almonds.
  4. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven, until golden.
  6. Allow cookies to cool a few minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
